wishing for tears to cleanseso i ripped the band aid from the flesh hoping that the words that would come would be of acceptance -- of love instead as the words finally spill from my lips as i say what i thought you knew i get questions remarks doubt i get away and start to cry but the tears are swallowed up inside of me in the void where my soul should be it has become harder and harder to cry even though the reasons to do so grow everyday i wish i could just cry that i could let the tears wash away the pain and inadequacies that i feel but the great nothing (that i amwishing for tears to cleanse
